The day started out with PT coming at 9am. Mark said that Dad was going to move onto the harder exercises because he is doing so well with these last ones he has been doing. Dad would rather hear he no longer needed exercises at all...lol
So after that I made breakfast and then we left for the doctor's office.
Dad weighed 164 there....but I think that was a little high with his heavy sweater on and his shoes....but the other day at the Senior Center he weighed 158. That was more like it. The nurse could hardly believe that he had gained that much in a month. Dr Holte was very pleased and told him to slow down now. haha Dad said he can't help it cause the food is too good. So we laughed about that and moved onto his meds and where we were going from here. Dr told him that he didn't need to come back again for another 2 months. He told Dad that he had a very good nurse and how lucky he was.....at first Dad didn't get it cause I am not a nurse....then Dr pointed to me. lol
Oh it was a combination of things. Dad had to WANT to get better too. The Remeron was KEY to the beginning of the changes. I just implemented them. Okay, so I coherced Dad to follow orders. LOL
Dad and I left the doctors and stopped by the Walmart Neighborhood Market. We got some fruit and veggies and went back to the house. He had a plate of fruit {tangerine, kiwi, and sliced apples}and prune juice for a snack. Then he visited with the nurse that came at 1:30pm. She marvels every time she comes the unbelievable change in Dad. She said she wished all her patients got the care Dad got. That's always good to hear. Dad does help make it easier too. He tries.
The weather is getting better each day. Today was over 60 and Dad just wore a sweater and was fine. I told him I can't wait for him to be able to sit in the sun outside and soak up the heat while I rake leaves.
He is resting in the living room with Rod right now. Tomorrow is Senior Center Day.
