Dad passed away on March 5th 2013. Although he is gone his memories will remain. I will still continue posting. There are many stories about Dad that still remain to be told. I will continue with stories. I have many stories that run through my head from time to time. Dad may not have traveled a lot but he sure had a lot of experiences. Starting the New Year....Welcome to 2020. Wendy Rose

Train Whistle
Dad's mental state is pretty good for the last couple days...he spent the day at the Senior Center. He wore his English hat and there are two other guys that wear theirs so they sit together. Dad was asking me today if I knew where the train whistle is that he made. It is a special LOUD whistle made of wood. When you blow it sounds just like a old time train whistle. He gets confused about what is here and what is in Indiana. I told him that I did have one at one time but not sure where it is right now. I looked in all the wood things he made for us but was unable to find it. I was thinking I might have given it to one of the kids....however I asked Dad why he wanted it and here is what he said. "I thought it would be fun to take it and walk into the room at the Senior Center and blow it real loud."
I started laughing and told him that he would have given them all heart attacks. He hadn't thought of that. LOL Dad and his ideas.
